A new collaboration has commenced (from 2021) between Lancaster University and Public Health England to work on routine data pertaining to neurological admissions in England. Professors Emsley and Knight are currently working on a project to investigate neurological emergency admissions. This study represents the first large scale analysis of neurological emergency admissions in England, and the first PHE-academic partnership in neurology. For the first time, these data are expected to provide some insight into the number and types of emergency admissions with neurological emergency codes.
